Web censorship – not just in China or Iran

There is a lot of press lately concerning the censorship and limit of access to the web in countries like China and Iran. If you are a corporate or government employee, you too may be subjected to the same censorship and denial of access to the web as the citizens of these repressive political regimes.

Let’s face it, there are lots of ways to waste valuable work time on the web. But there are also great opportunities to use the web for valid business use as well. Does your IT department act on executive requests to deny and limit and block your access to web sites? Or have you found ways around it? Or maybe you don’t really care and wait until you get home to access the web?

Instead of an armed revolution in corporate ranks, let’s engage the executive and IT folks in dialogue and prove to them that access to the web can be an aid to our productivity.
