Socialprise is a new term coined by InsideView an enterprise software developer – in their words:
“InsideView is a pioneer in on-demand business search and intelligence applications. We were founded in 2005 to take advantage of the convergence of social media and enterprise applications – what we call “socialprise” – and bring the insights gained from subscription-based and user-generated sources to the enterprise.”
The key to this new term is “the convergence of social media and enterprise applications“. The word Socialprise has the potential to grow beyond InsideView’s definition. We hope that it sparks a new way of thinking in the enterprise . Maybe this single word will enable business leaders and executives to take the next step to combining the traditional world of enterprise application data and the new world of collaborative information sharing and access across the workplace communities. Imaging being able to access corporate data in a Facebook type front end application with related contexts and people? A ‘mashup’ of corp data and relevant links.
I think we’ll start using this term instead of Enterprise 2.0 – it seems more relevant. It’s one of those things that make you want to say, “I wish I’d thought of that!”.
